More than 300 volunteers from 21 teams serve the community for Live United Day
More than 300 volunteers signed up to serve across 18 project sites as United Way of Greenville County hosted its annual Live United Day.
Among the companies who participated in the annual day of volunteerism were UPS Inside Sales, Michelin North America, GE, TD Bank, Propel HR, Wells Fargo Bank, ITW Hartness, Greenville Health System and 3M.
Sixteen United Way-funded agencies and community partners benefitted from this day of service, including A Child’s Haven, YouthBASE, Little Steps, Habitat for Humanity, Pleasant Valley Connection, New Horizon Family Health Services, Inc., Greenville Free Medical Clinic, Mill Village Farms, Cancer Society of Greenville County, United Housing Connections, Serenity Place, Salvation Army, Summit Drive Elementary School, Harvest Hope Food Bank, United Ministries and Greer Relief & Resources Agency.
“United Way is proud to serve as a connection between our community partners and agencies to build a better Greenville County for all,” said United Way of Greenville County President and CEO Meghan Barp. “We are grateful to all of our partners for volunteering their time, talents and resources to making this year’s Live United Day a success and creating a lasting impact in our community.”
This year, United Way expanded its day of service into Live United Week. Activities included additional volunteer opportunities, a mobile giving campaign and an “Acts of Kindness” partnership with Monkee’s of the West End. To give to United Way during Live United Week, text LIVEUNITEDGVL to 41444.
