When we launched Project Joy in 2020, it began as an opportunity for a quarantined community to make an impact during the holiday season. Designed to help alleviate the financial burden of holiday shopping for local parents and meet the needs of Greenville County students—with a special emphasis on often-forgotten older kids—Project Joy has returned each year since, bringing more generous community members together to make spirits bright across Greenville County.

This year, thanks to the extraordinary generosity of United Way investors, volunteers and partners, we’re thrilled to announce that we’ve doubled our impact! More than 700 Greenville County kids will spend the holidays with gifts under the tree. Over 300 families will rest easier knowing that their children have the support they need. And the holiday season will be all the more magical.

We couldn’t make this happen without a strong network of dedicated staff, individual investors and corporate partners. Thank you to each and every person who signed up to support a family, gave their time and resources to shop for gifts, or served with us to wrap and sort every item that came through our doors.

Project Joy is more than a seasonal giving opportunity. It serves as a special connection between this community’s most generous supporters and a new generation of leaders.

Together, we are building a Greenville County where all families have the resources and support they need to build the lives they deserve.
