United Way welcomes two additions to its Board of Directors
Two community leaders have been elected to serve on United Way of Greenville County’s Board of Directors: Katie Schuba of UBS Financial Services Inc. and Erin Thompson of Messer Construction Co.
“Both Katie and Erin bring an extraordinary history of leadership and community service to our board of directors,” said United Way of Greenville County President and CEO Meghan Barp. “Their unique perspectives and shared passion for improving our community will be invaluable in our work to build a Greenville County where all families have access to the resources and support to build the lives they deserve.”
Katie Schuba and Erin Thompson join a Board of Directors with a current Executive Committee that includes CareMore Health’s Dr. Saria Saccocio (Chair), Karen Baynes-Dunning (Vice Chair), Fox Rothschild’s Tami McKnew (Treasurer), Long Branch Baptist Church’s Pastor Sean Dogan (Secretary), TD Bank’s David Lominack (Community Impact Committee Chair) and Table 301’s Carl Sobocinski (Past Chair).
KATIE SCHUBA
Katie Schuba serves as the Market Director for UBS in South Carolina and is responsible for leading the Greenville Wealth Management business. She has a passion for helping our teams grow their practices and deliver the resources of the firm to our clients. Prior to relocating to South Carolina, Katie held a variety of different roles in leadership and business development including Divisional Digital Specialist and Assistant Market Head for the Midwest Private Wealth Market.
A native of Lexington, Kentucky, Katie graduated magna cum laude from DePaul University with a degree in Finance and a minor in Accounting. Katie is happiest spending time with her husband, Matthew, and baby boy, Charlie. Outside of work, she enjoys travel, modern dance and rock climbing.
ERIN THOMPSON
Erin Thompson is a vice president of Messer Construction Co., leading the company’s regional office in the Upstate. He has more than 25 years of construction management experience across a diverse portfolio of award-winning projects, including health care and higher education facilities, aviation concourses, corporate offices, multifamily housing, government buildings, distribution centers and parking garages.
Before relocating to Greenville, Thompson led Messer’s Central Ohio region in Columbus, working with notable clients like OhioHealth, The Ohio State University, Memorial Health of Union Co., Mount Camel Health Systems, Nationwide Children’s Hospital, Nationwide Realty Investors, Ohio Living, and Hikma Pharmaceuticals. Thompson is a past board member of Boys Scouts of America Simon Kenton Council, Rebuilding Together Ohio and the Associated General Contractors – Central Ohio Chapter. He holds a bachelor’s degree in construction management from the University of Cincinnati.
